Last Friday, Lee Corlett, a PE teacher came in and did some PE with us. We started off on the grandstand, and then we went over on to the grass where there were bits of ropes, cones, spots, hoops and people.
We did all sorts of stretches like: grab your toes and pull them back and wave them around. We jumped along a rope, then we walked along a rope. When we where back in our lines Lee started to talk about clenching our f together. And then we walked along the rope. Then we hopped in hops. After, we got in to a circle. and we picked up the rope, then we pulled, and we took ten steps back, then sat down. We had to lie back and most of us slid on our butts along the ground.
I actually quite enjoyed it.
Kia ora. We are a bunch of Year 6, 7 and 8 kids at Mahana School, and we're looking forward to sharing our work on this blog. Please leave us some comments!

HANDS
Last Friday for art the Senior Room did visual illustrations of their hand(s).
We got inspired by a famous artist named Albrecht Durer who we saw on the internet.
The learning intention of the lesson was to draw what you see, not what you think you see.
We are proud of our art and have posted some of them on our blog for you.
Swimming Sports
On Tuesday, the 8 year olds and up did the senior swimming sports at Upper Moutere School. We did well, everyone tried really hard and we came second in both the relays. Hannah was our championship swimmer for freestyle and breaststroke coming third in both, and Safari did backstroke, coming second. It was a hot day but it was cool (ha ha ha!)

Mr Neal at 'Learning at School'
Hello from Rotorua. The air is foul, but the place is interesting. Hey well done on the swimming sports. I knew you'd do well. Legends! Right now I'm in a class learning about how to build communities using blogs. I think our blog is pretty good, although we should use movies on it more.
Here is a picture of what I can see right now.
Talk later, bye.

I've been meaning to put in a post about this for AGES! This is at my Nana's 90th birthday. It was like a family reunion. Everyone from Mum's side of the family came and my other Grandma came too. We had a camera guy and girl come and take loads of photos of the seperate familys in the big family, and then a big photo of all of us. We had a really posh table and Rowan and I made a little poem up about Nana which we said in front of everyone. After a delicious feast at the buffet we did some ukulele playing and songs. Happy Birthday Nana, you ROCK!!!

I feel proud
Most of us are good at one thing or another, and generally find these things easy to do. It's a bit tougher when something doesn't come as naturally, and for me, that's gardening. Something I planned to do in the holidays was beautify a strip of arid, dry, weedy garden at the entrance to our house. Holidays came....and went....
Finally, I decided, I must do this task, it's not going to go away. So on Wednesday, I dug, weeded, arranged, planted and I feel so proud of my accomplishment, I want to share it. In fact, I dragged my husband and sons out there to ooohhh and ahhhh at my handiwork. Not to mention that I kept popping out, just to gaze at it over and over again. Hmmm...simple things!!
