Sydney!!
I have just spent 5 fabulous days in Sydney with my sisters and cousins (all girls), so that we could celebrate my Auntie's 80th birthday. This event happened kind of in memory of my Mum who would have turned 80 in November as well.
I did most of the driving in a wicked-as car, a Toyota Aurion. We talked a lot, sang songs together, and ate heaps of food!
The 'white house' belongs to my Auntie, and is right on the waterfront - it's gorgeous!
This was certainly a weekend to remember, and we even got to see the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.

Split Apple Rock
On Friday we went to Split Apple Rock. We dammed up a small stream. It was really fun. We made about four walls to try and save the Lyttleton family (which were sticks) and their house was a big clump of sand. The amount of water that burst out was huge. We went to the caves onthe other side of the beach. On the way we saw a half dead baracuta stuck under a rock but it wouldn't live long because a hungry looking seagull landed right next to it.
As we left Ancorage, thinking that it would be a hour and a half walk, it ended up being a half an hour walk as we skipped the hill and walked across the Torrant Bay estery. We finilly arivied at Torrant bay as we waited for the water taxi to pick us up. As we hoped on the water taxi we bonced up and down as we came to a sudden hult to find four little blue penguins swimming in the water, looking for food. Then we made it to Marahau.

The Great almighty walk!
We enjoyed ourselves loads on camp and the great almighty walk made it shine even more. We went on a long, long, long bridge over the estuary, and trudged through the beautiful native bush. Stopping at a nice clearing along the way for lunchwas a relief! Mmm, mmm, our lunches were deliciosly nice and enjoying it left us in a good mood for the rest of the walk.

The Gala
- The Mahana Seniors were very busy on the 18th of October when they were running every where trying to get stalls working for the Mahana School Gala. Although they were busy, together it was a heap of fun. The stalls we had were: Fishing game, Horizontal bungie, Water baloon throw, Slushie's, Pony Rides and Talent Quest. The weather was definitely on our side as the sun was blazing beautifully. We made $16,000 in the end,Wow! I enjoyed myself loads and the singing and dancing was great.

Hi everyone, We have had a busy week.,the girls Grandparents have been visiting. On monday we visited The Great barrier Reef on a Catamaran called The Passion. We went to Michealmas Cay and Paradise Reef. The Cay is a big sand hill covered in sea birds, it was very calm. The Reef was under water and we had to jump off the edge of the boat with our snorkeling gear and swam out to the reef.We also went on a tour in a glass bottom boat and saw all kinds of coral, turtles and fish, including Nemo.
We went back to Granite Gorge our favourite inland swimming hole.No Crocs-or so they told us! Hartleys Crocodile Farm is another place that we revisited, always good. The drinks are fresh coconut juice( come with there own cup) and sugar cane juice, yum yum.
7-Aside Winter Tournament
On the 16th of September, four sports teams competed against other schools in Motueka. The sports were rugby, netball, soccer and hockey. The rugby people came 2nd overall, hockey people came 3rd overall, soccer people came 4th overall and netball did very, very well against some tall and extremely tough teams. Everybody did really, really well.

The Cairns Dome Zoo
Hi everyone this is a zoo we went to. It is under a glass dome on top of the Casino roof.
This is a photo of me patting a Bandicoot.Bandicoots are Marsupials but they look like giant rats.
There were sugar gliders, which are tiny cute creatures which look like a cross between a bat and a possum. The zoo keeper feeds them large doses of sugar and then the sugar gliders , leap and glide from tree to tree, and can go upto 50 metres. They are small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.
There was a 5 metre croc that had to be lifted into the zoo by a crane!
