At maths today we made sculptures out of marshmallows and toothpicks. We found out the fractions of each colour we had.
Green: 3 Yellow:4 Pink: 12 White: 32. All together we had 50 marshmallows.
These are our fractions 3/50, 2/25, 6/25, 16/25.

Maggi Cook Off

On Tuesday, 9 year seven and eight's competed to get into the Mahana School Maggi Cooking Team. There can only be 4 people per team so we had to battle it off. We got put into teams of three and baked our hearts out! We each made scones and were judged on presentation, taste, and mainly teamwork. Our scones turned out great and the teachers loved them! We had 40 minutes to prepare, cook and clean up, then after the teachers were done we shared them with the class. The teachers had choosen Harriet, Safari, and Izzie so far but needed one more person for the team. So the next day we saw how fast the others could slice and dice! They cut up apples and timed them as they went. So congratulations... JOSIE! She made it into the team. Everyone did a great job and in our minds, they are also part of the team! We had a awesome day!

cory the penguin visits mahana school

We were all surprised when we saw out the window this penguin called Cory. It was really someone dressed up, though it was the aquatic centers lucky mascot so we didn't make fun of him.One of Cory's friends came aswell. (to translate him)Because he spoke penguin.When he was walking away he started doing the(CHACHA)and the (SHAKE YOUR BOOTY).

Mao's last dancer

Summary:Back in 1949 a young boy called li was urged to take chance of a lifetime. He was so young when he left home with no friends to talk to. A few years had past when he had become the best dancer he thought he would never be and he never wanted to go back.

opinion:This is a really interesting book because it's in different contries which is cool to see how other people live.

Beautiful Boxes

I made these boxes ages ago after I learned how to make them at school. I made them during lunchtimes and after school. It took me about 2 days to make them all. The 5 little ones and the 4 big ones in two different sessions. The hardest thing was making the small ones cos it was really fiddly, and the big ones were time-consuming cos I had to tape them all together.

I heard a voice "are you ready"yes I said back.Softball had began I swung the bat missing it.The ref yelled "time".ultimate Frisbee is next.Are last game. To start of the day we had volley ball.
